In its fifth generation, is going to be redesigned and launched as the new 2018 Cadillac Escalade. Brought in to compete with Ford’s Lincoln Navigator in 1999, and essentially Cadillac’s first foray into this SUV market, the Escalade has been around for almost 18 years now.
It will compete with other luxury SUVs of the similar segment. Like Mercedes-Benz GLE, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Lincoln MKX.
2018 Cadillac Escalade – Power Expectations
A 6.2-liter V8 engine is what you can expect this Cadillac Escalade 2018 to have under its hood. With a heavy duty engine like that, power in the range of 420 to 450 hp should not be too difficult to achieve. Also, torque should be around 460 ft-lb. This SUV also will have a towing capacity of 8300 pounds.
Escalade’s current model has an 8-speed transmission with rear wheel drive. But this new version could have the new 10-speed transmission, which is something new being integrated by General Motors. This will probably enable the vehicle to have an all-wheel drive. As a result, fuel efficiency could slightly improve; 15 in a city while 21 on the highway.
2018 Cadillac Escalade – Design
Again, since its current model is a fine one, too many enhancements may not be attempted, although a few changes will be done in terms of styling. Quite big, Escalade does have the styling similar to that of a pickup truck, something that will be maintained.
LED headlights and Light Blade tail lights on the rear are expected while 22-inch wheels with chrome will be available in the Cadillac Escalade 2018, as it is in the current version.
The insides of this current Escalade are quite sophisticated so too many improvements are not really required. Its infotainment system may get a firmware update, though. Otherwise, 2018 Cadillac Escalade offers enough space for the passengers and also cargo.
Seating for seven passengers is standard, but with the optional bench in the second row could increase capacity for up to eight people. Seats come with heating and power tilting capabilities. The dashboard will be as sophisticated as ever with a leather cover. Amenities like GPS navigation, telescopic steering, and tri-zone climate control will be available.
2018 Cadillac Escalade – Expected Price and Release Date
While there is no official word, buyers can expect 2018 Cadillac Escalade to arrive in showrooms by the final quarter of 2017. As far as the price is concerned, the current base model is available at $74,590, but this newer upgraded version could be a bit more expensive, maybe in the region of $75,000. Higher up the range prices will cross $80,000.
