Tweaks and enhancements – that is what Cadillac are doing to one of its luxury sedans. General Motors are in no mood to give up an inch of competitive space. And with the likes of Audi and BMW penetrating deeper into the North American markets, GM are taking no chances. They are bringing an enhanced version of small and compact sedans – the 2018 Cadillac ATS. Some changes are always necessary to keep abreast with changing demands. And this year 2018 model will compete with Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class and the likes.
2018 Cadillac ATS – Speculated Powertrains
Cadillac ATS 2018 will have a 3.6-litre V6 engine under its hood. This will be a powerful version of the V6 which can produce 464 hp of power. It also produces a torque of 445 lb-ft. This engine is an upgrade over the current one that produces a power of only 272 hp. This will have a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic transmission. It will have a combined fuel economy of 26 mpg.
Design and features of 2018 Cadillac ATS
ATS is already a very attractive vehicle. Although GM will make no major changes, some tweaks are necessary to keep the customers interested. The 2018 Cadillac ATS will have a bigger logo in front while the grille might change size. Xenon headlamps will be present on either side. Cadillac will offer even more colors for the Cadillac ATS 2018.
The ATS is famous for its Magnetic Ride control and the new version will have it as well. Similarly, Cadillac will have the Brembo brakes for better control. Dimensions will probably not change in this 4 doors 5 passenger car. But GM may offer a coupe version. However, interiors will get some new features.
With more colors being offered for the exterior, interiors too might get new options for upholstery. However what the seats will look like is something only time will tell. GM will put all the necessary safety features in their luxury sedan. 2018 Cadillac ATS will have all features like- forward collision warning, lane departure alert, blind spot monitoring, etc. Cadillac will also integrate the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
2018 Cadillac ATS – Release Date and Price
2018 Cadillac ATS will cost around $40,000 for base versions. Higher trims will cost around $60,000. Expect it to come out in late 2017. If ATS does shrink in size, the price figure may seem a bit steep. But then again, Cadillac knows how to compensate.
